The Wisconsin Badgers got another commitment in their 2027 recruiting class on Monday morning when three-star safety D.J. Davis announced his commitment to the program.
Davis, a 6’2, 175-pound athlete from Delaware, was a standout receiver and defensive back for Middletown, but the Badgers envision him as a safety, making him the second commitment at the position in the class for Wisconsin.
Davis had been a top target for the Badgers at the position, and Wisconsin had been trending well prior to his
commitment, securing an official visit for the first weekend of June. Other top contenders included Penn State and West Virginia, while Duke, UNC, Boston College, Pitt, Syracuse, and others had offered the Delaware native as well.
He is now the 10th commit in Wisconsin’s 2027 class, and the second out-of-state commit, joining four-star composite quarterback Jack Sorgi, who committed to the Badgers over the weekend.
Wisconsin is now well-positioned at safety in the cycle, landing commitments from Davis and three-star in-state recruit Dustin Roach. They’ve continued to target long, athletic players at the position, and Davis’s ability as a receiver should help out with his ball skills.
