The Denver Broncos this year are going to need to be hitting on all cylinders right out of the gate. Opening Monday night against the Chiefs makes their first game of the year a divisional game and a fantastic opportunity to get a head start on their division rivals.
I can tell you that I’m a huge fan of playing in Arrowhead early in the season. It seems the Broncos get an abnormal amount of games late in the year there. This means we likely get to play them at home late in the year for a change.
While all the eyes are going to be on Nix and Mahomes, I think the key to the game is going to be how well the front 7 of the Broncos holds up against Kansas City’s run game. If they can contain Kenneth Walker III, they will likely be able to dominate on defense.
I’m excited for the team to have the opportunity to get a major test early. They get a chance to show off the new offensive toy in Jaylen Waddle. They get to put a lid on old man Travis Kelce and make him regret not hanging them up last season when he had already lost a step. Hopefully, we get to listen to a somber crowd by the end of the game who leave the stands with heads full of doubt for their team’s prospects in 2026.
