With each new season comes a new roster and a series of important decisions that will take shape throughout training camp. Each year, certain position groups are loaded with talent, forcing the team to make difficult and sometimes unexpected cuts. Looking at the Cleveland Browns’ 2026 roster, which position groups could force the team to make some of its toughest decisions?
Wallace was brought in to add depth to the wide receiver room while also contributing on special
teams. After the team drafted some young, exciting talent at wide receiver in KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston, there is the potential that Wallace could find himself on the outside looking in. His familiarity with the current Browns coaching staff and versatility as a receiver should improve his chances, but he’ll need to continue proving himself throughout training camp to secure a spot on the 53-man roster.
Jack Stoll, Tight End
The final roster is always a numbers game, and certain position groups have to take a hit to benefit other groups. That could be the case for the tight ends, which might leave Stoll off the list. Since he is more of a blocking tight end, Cleveland could choose to prioritize other skill sets when putting together the final roster. Stoll will need to prove his value in the preseason to earn a spot.
Daniel Thomas, Safety
Thomas was brought into a group that has been a bit of a mixed bag over the last few seasons. There is some competition at the position this season, and the Browns may opt to prioritize younger talent they believe offers greater upside than a player like Thomas. Only time will tell what Cleveland ultimately prioritizes at the position.
