Coming off a historic 2025 campaign where he racked up a league-leading 1,793 receiving yards, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba is now on pace to one-up last year’s performance and has earned another weekly award.
Alongside Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, the superstar wideout was named a FedEx Ground & Air Player of the Week following another dominant game against the Kansas City Chiefs, where he recorded nine receptions, 150 yards and a touchdown—while playing a significant
role in the Seahawks 20-3 upset win.
Unlike the NFL’s Player of the Week awards, the FedEx Ground & Air winners are chosen by fans.
His monster game against Kansas City was highlighted by a 28-yard score with just under two minutes remaining in the first half when he hauled in an over the shoulder catch while covered by Chiefs star rookie cornerback Mansoor Delane.
It marked the second time in 2026 Smith-Njigba has been named Player of the Week, with the first following his nine catch, 155 yard, three touchdown performance against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 2.
With two weekly awards under his belt, it should come as no surprise the Seahawks star receiver leads the league with an astounding 867 yards across just seven games, over 200 more than Dallas’ Ceedee Lamb (651). Smith-Njigba also ranks first in receiving touchdowns (8), yards per game (123.9) and second in receptions (58).
With his remarkable Week 7 performance, the fourth year superstar became just the sixth wideout in NFL history to record 100+ yards in six or more of his team’s first seven games and he’ll look to stay hot when Seattle hosts the Chicago Bears on Monday night as they look to inch one step closer to first place in the NFC West.
