Lucha Libre AAA is heating up for Ola de Calor on Sunday, August 30, 2026 from Edinburg, Texas. General manager Rey Mysterio went into his bag of ideas to put together the card. The lineup includes:
- Contract signing for Dominik Mysterio to defend the AAA Mega Championship against El Grande Americano at Triplemania 34
- Penta, Fenix, & Dragon Lee vs. Los Perros del Mal
- AAA Latin American Championship: La Parka vs. El Fiscal vs. El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. vs. Damian Priest for the vacant title
- AAA World Tag Team Championship: War Raiders (c) vs. Los Americanos
- Guantlet match for #1 contender to AAA Reina de Reinas Championship
- El Carcinero in-ring debut
Dominik Mysterio won’t be getting dirty in a match at Ola de Calor. I’m sure Dom can get dirty in other ways for the contract signing with El Grande Americano to finalize the AAA Mega Championship match for Triplemania 34.
Penta dumped Los Perros del Mal after beating dead weight Bronco Nima, who was promptly
jumped out of the group and now belongs in a new faction on WWE Raw. Daga, Angel, and Berto didn’t take kindly to that rejection, so they stomped the man with zero fear. Penta’s real family arrived for the save when Fenix boogied to the ring, and Dragon Lee helped too. That is a recipe for a trios match at Ola de Calor.
The AAA Latin American Championship was vacated from Hijo del Vikingo due to injury. Rey Mysterio booked four three-way matches with the winners advancing to the four-way title bout at Ola de Calor. La Parka, El Fiscal, and El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. handled business. Damian Priest was given a bye after his opponents were put out of commission. Omos was suspended for a violent attack on Galeno, who was sent to the hospital, and also for putting hands on the general manager.
The War Raiders won the AAA tag titles from Psycho Clown and Pagano. Erik and Ivar haven’t been back in AAA since. Los Americanos prevailed in a #1 contender four-way bout to earn the shot at Ola de Calor. Imagine Grande, Bravo, and Rayo all holding gold after Triplemania.
Flammer has held the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship for over 1,100 days. The champ told Rey that she would be taking the night off for Triplemania, since she cleaned out the division with no more challengers. Rey had a different idea in mind. He booked a gauntlet match at Ola de Calor to determine the #1 contender for Triplemania. None of the participants have been revealed yet. Some names that make sense are La Catalina, Lady Shani, Faby Apache, Lola Vice, Nattie Neidhart, and Bayley. Also of note, Rey pulled La Hiedra aside. What would Flammer think if her Toxicas teammate is in the match?
Psycho Clown has been tormented by a mystery attacker. We now know that man’s name is El Carnicero. The monster will make his in-ring debut at Ola de Calor.
AAA Ola de Calor will air Sunday at 12 pm ET through the WWE YouTube channel in most countries.
