The Daily Merengue is a place where you can feel free to discuss all things football. Do not be alarmed by the overt RMCF bias. It’s in the name! Shoutout to the mods who do a fantastic job Kung_Fu_Zizou, Juninho, NeRObutBlanco, Felipejack, Ezek Ix and yours truly, Valyrian Steel.
FOOTBALL IS CHANGING
As greed continues to rise. The talk of playing la liga, seria A etc league games in other countries is still on the table. And people get upset for the super league when the ones that hold the stakes at FIFA/UEFA and other football
governing bodies, plan on doing the very same. They seem more upset they didn’t think of it first. What a weird time to be alive we’re in. I don’t know how to feel about it. the unnecessary travel and jetlag the players will suffer. and home fans getting games snatched away from them. The things you do for money. I don’t understand how these people think. Can the new generations of players and fans adapt to this change when it finally lands? imagine a champions league game in Canada.
ESL
Is the European super league still on the table? now that UEFA and FIFA have blocked off any little space for extra/new competitions by both expanding their formats for the “greater good of lesser teams”. Can it still happen? or was it the necessary awareness scare that everyone needed to know that football may be heading somewhere everyone may not like. That’s unless you stand to directly profit form the direction it’s headed.
ONCE CHANGE HAPPENS
If your child was talented, would you still encourage them to get into football. Seeing where it’s headed?
RIGHT WING
Will we ever get a true right winger? bale and vazquez are gone. Rodrygo has had to manage in the right side for some time. But we need a true right winger.
