What is the story about?
Ben Whittaker did what he hoped to do today in Liverpool, knocking out Braian Suarez in the first round of a bumped-up main event from Matchroom Boxing.
Replacing the highly-anticipated and scrapped fight between Callum Smith and David Morrell, Whittaker (11-0-1, 8 KO) made it a short night in the main event, scoring a right hand knockout that the Suarez corner complained was a shot behind the head, and it was arguably that it was, but it wasn’t on purpose or anything.
Elsewhere on the card, Molly
McCann improved to 4-0 with another decision win, and both Joe McGrail and Leo Atang picked up victories to remain unbeaten, as well.
