Dragon Lee may be the future of lucha libre, but on WWE’s main roster in 2026, he’s apparently forgettable.
That was clear on Monday’s Raw
when Lee approached Intercontinental Champion Penta, who was showing streamer IShowSpeed his signature strut. As Penta made the introduction, Speed stared at Lee, trying to remember who he was.“What’s your name? Dragon?” Speed asked. “You a dragon?”
Lee, who very much knew who Speed was, confirmed he was a dragon, and the trio had a friendly exchange before Speed quickly bolted. Lee then thanked Penta for last week’s match and wished him luck against Dominik Mysterio, with Penta offering a rematch anytime.
The segment came off as insulting. When WWE leans on celebrities who seem unfamiliar with the roster, it cheapens the product, making its “superstars” look less than, and its famous guests clueless.
That’s what made this especially odd. IShowSpeed is no stranger to WWE. He’s taken an RKO from Randy Orton at WrestleMania XL, eaten a Bron Breakker spear at the 2025 Royal Rumble, and even trained with Orton.
Yet here he was, struggling to recognize Lee, a regular on Raw who was recently beefing with Gunther and, as noted, faced Penta just last week. This is also a former World Tag Team Champion alongside AJ Styles, someone you would assume Speed would recognize, but now it’s fair to wonder.
Yet, despite consistent TV time, moments like this and frequent losses (Lee is currently on a three-match losing streak), diminish his character. Until WWE gives fans a reason to care, Lee isn’t just underutilized — he’s invisible.
