Week 8 Sunday Night Football. Tonight we have a so-called Aaron Rodgers revenge game as the 4-2 Pittsburgh Steelers host the 4-1-1 Green Bay Packers.
The Pittsburgh Steelers come into this game off a damaging loss to the Cincinnati Bengals after winning their prior three games. The Steelers have benefitted from a relatively easy schedule thus far, having faced just two winning teams on the season. The Steelers offense has struggled a bit under ex-Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, scoring more than
24 points just twice. Those two games came against the New York Jets and the Cincinnati Bengals, two of the worst defenses in the NFL. Rodgers has settled into the role of a nice game manager quarterback, throwing for just over 211 yards per game, the lowest number in his illustrious career.
The Packers come into this game winners of two straight games. They have lost just once this year, and they have scored 27+ points in every game but one on the season. The Packers defense has held their opponents to 18 points or less in four of their six games. This will be a challenge for Rodgers against his former team.
Like the Steelers, the Packers have benefitted from an easy schedule to start the season. The Packers have faced just one winning opponent all season. We’ll see which team manages a win against a quality opponent tonight.
It’s the Steelers and the Packers tonight on Sunday Night Football. Enjoy the game everybody.
