It’s the final matchday before the March international break. Savor every last drop of Bundesliga football, because it won’t return for two weeks.
There are some tasty matches to enjoy this weekend, perhaps most of all the Friday night game between RB Leipzig and Hoffenheim. The race for top four is really tight and with Germany potentially missing out on the extra Champions League spot, RB Leipzig are at real risk of failing to make the cut. Leipzig are currently in fifth place on 47 points, while
Stuttgart and Hoffenheim ahead of them are both on 50 points. A win tonight would be huge for Leipzig, though unless they give Hoffenheim a shellacking they are likely to still trail by goal difference. Predicting Ball makes RB Leipzig significant favorites, giving them a 49.6% win probability, compared against Hoffenheim’s 27.3% and the 23.1% probability of a draw.
Elsewhere, there is a huge game in the relegation battle tomorrow afternoon, between Wolfsburg and Werder Bremen. Wolfsburg have found themselves dropping into the relegation zone and are now in deep trouble, but a win could take them to 24 points, level with St. Pauli just above them, and just one point behind Werder Bremen in 15th. Predicting Ball sees this game being a lot tighter, giving Wolfsburg a small edge with a 39.3% win probability.
Here is the rest of this weekend’s Bundesliga schedule:

- RB Leipzig vs Hoffenheim

- Wolfsburg vs Werder Bremen

The same rules apply as the BVB match threads, though I’m hoping tempers are less likely to flare in these threads. But as a reminder, here are the match thread rules:
- Exercise common sense. We allow profanity, adult humor, and other forms of crudeness within reason, but of course there are lines. Hateful language will not be tolerated. Exceptionally violent language (especially directed at specific people) will not be tolerated. Before you type, ask yourself, “Would I have a reasonable expectation of being thrown out of a bar in an average city if I said something like this?”
- Be respectful. There will definitely be times when everyone is upset and disagreements get heated, and that’s fine, but remember that we’re all rooting for the same team. Keep arguments based on substance and not personal insults.
- No sharing illegal streams. NONE. Zero tolerance.
- No spam. I have no interest in whatever crypto scheme you’re shilling. You will be banned.
Enjoy the game! Heja BVB!
