Barcelona have confirmed that young goalkeeper Aron Yaakobishvili has signed for Almeria on a season-long loan.
The transfer does include a purchase option which means Yaakobishvili could end up making his stay permanent if the deal works out for all parties.
The stopper spent last season on loan at Andorra, going on to play
21 times, and is now heading out again in a move which will see him link up with former Barca B coach García Pimienta.
The Almeria boss won’t be the only familiar face for Yaakobishvili. Quim Junyent has also signed for the club this summer after leaving Barcelona.
Yaakobishvili is the second young goalkeeper to depart Barcelona before the start of the 2026-27 campaign. US stopper Diego Kochen has also moved on, joining Danish side Lyngby Boldklub on loan with a purchase option.
Eder Aller and exciting talent Iker Rodriguez look set to be Barcelona Atletic’s stoppers for the new season.
