Atlético de Madrid did what they had to do in the first leg of this Champions League tie: defeat Tottenham Hotspur at home, and do so by multiple goals.
Now they have to finish the job at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where Spurs have not lost any of their past 24 European fixtures.
Atlético have a 5-2 aggregate lead from the first leg last week. Diego Simeone’s lineup does seem to indicate that he has one eye on a possible quarterfinal matchup against FC Barcelona: Marc Pubill has been benched as he is
one yellow card away from a suspension for the first leg of the next round, although Marcos Llorente, Giuliano Simeone and Robin Le Normand are also a booking away and were named to the 11.

Thread rules
- This game might get heated. Cholo Simeone might make a head-scratching change or two. Plus, we remember all too well how last season’s Champions League campaign ended. But please don’t use offensive/derogatory language, and keep swearing to a minimum. Don’t abuse the coaches, the players or the match officials.
- A continuation of the first guideline: excessive negativity weighs everyone down. It’s alright to express frustration, but avoid making crazily pessimistic statements in the chat.
- Do not discuss or share streaming links. I am so serious about this. We will get in big trouble for hosting or even discussing them. I don’t want to ban anyone from the chat, so please don’t do it.
- Use common sense. Treat others in the thread how you yourself would like to be treated.
Aúpa Atleti!!!
