A Japanese legend of professional wrestling is saying goodbye to Mexico on his retirement tour. Tiger Mask IV will grace the ring in Arena Mexico for CMLL Fantasticamania on June 19. The card is comprised of talent from CMLL, NJPW, Stardom, and AEW.
Tiger Mask IV announced his official retirement for July 7 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan. Yoshihiro Yamazaki donned the mask in 1995, and he has served the longest run as the famous character. That retirement event is the same month and arena as his debut.
Tiger Mask IV has an illustrious career holding several championships across All Japan Pro-Wrestling, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Michinoku Pro Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Noah, the National Wrestling Alliance, and the Universal Wrestling Association.
Before Tiger Mask IV says sayōnara in Japan, he’ll have a chance to say adiós to the fans in Mexico at CMLL Fantasticamania. Tiger Mask IV will team with Mistico and Blue Panther in trios action against Averno, Black Tiger, and Volador Jr.
Tiger Mask IV and Mistico have been teammates and opponents over the years in various multi-man tag team matches. They also had a singles rivalry in 2009. Mistico won the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship from Tiger Mask IV in August of that year, and Tiger Mask IV won the title back a few months later in November.
On the opposing side stands the newly masked Black Tiger, which is a character known as Tiger Mask’s evil twin. The luchador Magnus recently took over the character as Black Tiger IX. Tiger Mask IV defeated this Black Tiger on the NJPW Fantasticamania tour for 2026.
