Bayern Munich legend Javi Martínez has returned to the club in a brand ambassador role.
The 38-year old Spaniard was spotted in Munich in the past few days, and was also in attendance at the Allianz Arena for Bayern’s 7-0 win over Union Berlin. Now, the reason for his visit has become clear.
Bayern announced the reunion on their social media channels on Saturday, with other legends Giovane Élber, Raimond Aumann, and Roy Makaay also present in the announcement video. The video shows Martínez serving
glasses of beer in the new Oktoberfest jersey.
Martínez is one of the most decorated players in Bayern Munich history, having won literally every trophy that was up for grabs multiple times. He won two trebles, one of which ended in a sextuple, and scored two goals in the two UEFA Super Cups in said years. He also won the World Cup and the Euros with Spain.
