What is the story about?
Earlier this week, former NBA player Jason Collins died at the age of 47 after a battle with glioblastoma, a form of brain cancer. He played 13 years in the NBA, including part of the 2012-13 season for the Washington Wizards where he played six games.
While he was with the Wizards, Collins announced that he was openly gay and was the first NBA player to do so. He then played one more season with the Brooklyn Nets. As an NBA player, Collins’ most noteworthy seasons were with the Nets earlier in his
career when they made two NBA Finals appearances.
RIP Jason.
