Winning is always the main goal each week; however, the Cleveland Browns have several other factors to consider in Week 1 when determining whether the team delivered a strong performance.
The team should look prepared. There has been significant transition within the organization over the past few months, including a new coaching staff and continued changes within the quarterback room. The hope is that all of these changes don’t result in a messy showing. Penalties, poor game management, turnovers,
and missed assignments could indicate that the team is not organized or fully prepared for the season ahead.

Another key factor will be whether the offense can consistently move the ball. For several seasons, the Browns have often started games with an impressive scripted opening drive, only for the offense to struggle and stall for much of the rest of the game. It will be encouraging to see whether the offense can sustain consistent drives throughout the game while creating opportunities for different players to make an impact.
With expectations low among both fans and the media this season, it will be important to see the level of effort the team brings to this matchup. It won’t be just about the big moments and highlights shared on social media. It will ultimately come down to whether individual players consistently execute the little things necessary to give the team a chance to win.
