While we have our Pick’em competition throughout the regular season, it’s been a while since Silver and Black Pride has done something similar for the NFL Draft. So, we’re reviving the Predict the Pick competition for the 2026 NFL draft! Shoutout to GRANDVILLAPIANO for bringing this up on a recent FEED post.
Between social media and just about every sports media company, there’s no shortage of mock drafts this time of year. That leads to plenty of opinions and people thinking they know more about how
the unpredictable event will unfold than anyone else. So, this is your opportunity to put your money where your mouth is and prove it, showing the S&BP community who the real NFL draft expert is!
In other words, you can be the Pete Weber of this website! (H/t Giphy for the GIF below).
PredictThePick.com will host the competition, and the signup instructions are below.
- Click this link and enter your login information, or click the ‘Sign Up’ hyperlink under the login button.
- If you already had an account, move on to Step 3. If you had to create an account, you will be redirected to the login screen. Enter the login information you just created.
- Click the ‘Join Group’ button on the right side of the page.
- A pop-up window will display where you can enter a Group ID number, a dropdown menu with ‘Private’ and ‘Public’ as the options, and a space to enter the Group Password. Enter ‘38’ as the ID number, select ‘Private’, and enter 6288 as the password.
- The ‘Silver & Black Pride’ group should now display under the ‘My Groups’ section. Click that box and start making your picks!
Here’s how Predict the Pick’s scoring works:
- 100 points for an exact pick
- 75 points for being one off
- 50 points for being two off
- 25 points for being three off
- 10 points for being in the first round
For example, if you have Fernando Mendoza going No. 1 overall and the Raiders do take him No. 1, then you get 100 points for that pick. But if the Raiders pass on Mendoza, and he goes second overall to the New York Jets, then you’d only get 75 points, and so on if he slides even further. As a side note, everyone competing in this should at least get 100 points…
Also, the points are based on where the player falls in the draft order, not what team drafts him. So, if you think the Raiders are going to pull off a draft-day trade with the Jets to get, say, Arvell Reese with the second pick, you still want to have Reese second overall to the Jets when you fill this out to be able to get the full 100 points. That’s something to keep in mind as you make your predictions. It might be a better strategy to use a “best player available” approach rather than trying to pair prospects with team needs, as one trade could throw off your entire mock.
While the S&BP competition is just for bragging rights (which can be very valuable in The FEED or the comments section on the website), everyone using Predict the Pick has a chance to win some money from that service. Whoever has the best overall entry/most points of everyone who submits a mock on the entire Predict the Pick competition will win $50, and a perfect entry gets a share of $1,000! If there are multiple perfect entries, the money will be split evenly between the contestants.
To be clear, Vox Media and SB Nation are NOT providing any financial compensation for this competition, and Predict the Pick is responsible for handling any payouts, even if the contestant is participating through the Silver & Black Pride group. The winner of the Silver & Black Pride group is not guaranteed any financial compensation.
Best of luck to you all! I look forward to competing with everyone!
