It’s really something I just feel is really myself, I feel like in my soul. I’ve always wanted to create a comic someday, I’m gonna do it someday.”
We know that Wemby has a number of passions beyond the basketball court- chess, fashion, reading. He’s hosted his own Hoops Gambit. The summer the Defensive Player of the Year was spotted at a fashion show. Additionally, he plays Dungeons & Dragons, loves Star Wars, and the books of Brandon Sanderson. He even started a book club with members of the San Antonio Spurs.
Victor is always looking to broaden his horizons whether is be his time with the Shaolin monks, his workouts with the French Rugby Club, or his seemingly random appearance at a soccer field. It begs the question – if basketball had not been in his future, what other passion might Victor Wembanyama followed?
In all honesty, it takes me back to Tim Duncan and his original path – swimming.
If it were not for Hurricane Hugo, the basketball world may have been robbed of one of the greatest players of all time.
