On Thursday afternoon, news broke that the Falcons were trading with the Chiefs for tackle Wanya Morris. A bit later, the team announced tackle Storm Norton is landing on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list.
Norton did not see the field in 2025 after suffering an ankle injury that required surgery last summer. He was designated to return to IR in October, but never was activated. The reason for the PUP designation isn’t clear, but we will update this post as more information becomes
available.
The Falcons signed Norton off the Saints’ practice squad in 2023, and he’s had three starts over 14 games with Atlanta.
The only other right tackle still listed on the team’s depth chart is Jack Nelson, who played in 10 games for the Falcons last season. Kaleb McGary, who held down the position for years after being selected in the first round of the 2019 draft, announced his retirement this offseason at age 31.
How do you see the right tackle position shaking out between now and the start of the season? What’s Atlanta’s best-case scenario here? Let us know in the comments.
