The 2026 World Cup will have not one, not two, but three mascots. Today, FIFA officially revealed the new mascots who will represent the tournament that will be hosted next summer across the United States,
Canada, and Mexico.
Maple, Zayu, and Clutch are the names of the moose, jaguar, and bald eagle that were selected to represent the three host nations. They will be a part of merchandise that will feature all the way through the 2026 World Cup and will even be featured on a video game. FIFA Heroes is a soccer video game that FIFA will release next year on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, Android, and iOS, and fans will be able to play a the three mascots on that game. Roblox will also have some activations involving Maple, Zayu, and Clutch.

Clutch the Bald Eagle, representing the United States, “possesses an unquenchable thirst for adventure, soaring across the United States and embracing every culture, game and moment with boundless curiosity and optimism.” FIFA went on to describe Clutch as a midfielder that “unites people wherever they go, proving that true flight is about purpose, passion and play.”

Maple the Moose was picked to represent Canada’s rich culture. Described as a music enthusiast and dedicated goalkeeper, Maple “purpose through creativity, resilience and unapologetic individuality.”

Zayu the Jaguar was picked to represent the vibrant spirit of Mexico. Described as a striker (not this Striker), Zayu also dons the captain’s armband of the mascot crew. FIFA calls Zayu “a symbol of cultural celebration and connection, carrying the heart of Mexico with pride.”
The FIFA Store currently has a couple of item in stock featuring the mascots, and more merchandise will appear in the future. Outside of the action on the field, the mascots will be the long lasting reminder of the 2026 World Cup. FIFA hopes that the mascots will continue the tradition of capturing the joy of the world’s most popular tournament.
