Barcelona have added Inter Milan and Argentina striker Lautaro Martínez to their list of alternatives to Julián Álvarez, who appears set to stay at Atlético Madrid.
According to a very solid source in El Desmarque, the 28-year-old forward is one of Barça’s favorite names on the list if they can’t convince Atlético to sell Julián, and the Catalans are ready to begin talks with Inter.
Lautaro been linked with Barça a few times before, but the club’s interest and urgency to sign a striker makes an approach
much more likely this time.
Lautaro is an Inter legend and has been one of the most prolific strikers in Europe over the last decade, and he also scored the goal that sent Argentina to the World Cup Final with a late winner against England this summer.
Martínez has a contract with Inter until 2029 and it wouldn’t be easy to convince Inter to sell, but Lautaro is so respected and admired at the Italian club that Inter would be willing to talk if the player informs them of his desire to leave after eight great years in Milan.
So today’s Barca Blaugranes Question of the Day is:
Should Barcelona sign Lautaro Martínez if they can’t get Julián Álvarez?
