As if the Seattle Seahawks’ safety room wasn’t injured enough, there could be a problem for another one of their starters.
Following Sunday’s practice, the Seahawks released their first injury report of the 2026 season, and while the main focus is rightfully on Nick Emmanwori given his ankle surgery recovery, there’s some concern regarding the availability of Ty Okada, who did not practice due to a hamstring issue. Okada is replacing Coby Bryant as the other starting deep safety alongside Julian Love,
and with Bud Clark out for the year there’s literally no other healthy depth on the active roster. The Seahawks do have Rodney Thomas II, Maxen Hook, D’Anthony Bell, and A.J. Finley all available on the practice squad.
Emmanwori, meanwhile, was limited in practice but it seems like he is very much touch-and-go as far as Week 1 readiness.
We also finally have confirmation that wide receiver Tory Horton has been dealing with his own hamstring injury, and he was similarly limited in Sunday’s practice. Horton did not play in preseason and missed several practices during that span.
For some good news in the Seahawks secondary, rookie corner Julian Neal was a full participant after hurting his quad during training camp. The third-round pick missed all of preseason with that injury, further complicating matters in Seattle’s reshaped cornerback depth chart.
On New England’s side, starting defensive tackle Christian Barmore and running back TreVeyon Henderson were both DNPs due to their respective injuries. Henderson is not expected to play on Wednesday after tweaking his ankle two weeks ago. Barmore is a name worth monitoring as one of the forces on New England’s interior defensive line.
