We’re back today to get you caught up on the latest from Syracuse’s Olympic Sports as the spring sports calendar ramps up.
Women’s Rowing:
The Orange moved up to #9 in this week’s poll and despite being swept by #3 Yale at the Cayuga Cup, Syracuse took 2nd behind the Bulldogs, but a close loss in the V8 shows that this year’s Orange will be able to compete at a high level this season.
The Syracuse crews will compete next weekend at the Ivy Invite in Princeton, N.J.
Softball (12-16, 1-9):
Syracuse got
their first ACC win of the season with a 9-6 victory in extra innings at Pitt. Madison Knight drove home the go-ahead run in the eighth inning in a game that featured three home runs by the Orange- including a grand slam from Kaimi Tulua
The Panthers came back to take the final two games winning 6-5 and then 5-4 in 8 innings. The Orange head to Boston College next weekend.
