Hansi Flick has been asked about Barcelona’s priorities this season as the Catalans continue to fight for glory in La Liga and the Champions League.
The Catalans currently sit seven points clear at the top of the table in Spain and are currently on course to successfully defend their title.
However, it’s a different story in Europe as Barca are 2-0 down to Atletico at the halfway point of their quarter-final clash.
Asked about both competitions, Flick made it clear that the Champions League remains
the club’s greatest motivation.
“Of course LaLiga is the basis, that’s why you’re playing in the Champions League,” he told reporters.
“The dream for every player, club, fans, coaches is to win Champions League; to play in the Champions League. This is why we are here.
“In every game you see the team is 5% more than 100% motivated. This is the competition, this is why we are here.
“We have to make our daily job, LaLiga, but in the end the most important thing is to win the Champions League. This is the goal from my side, the players and the club.”
Barcelona face Espanyol next in another crunch game in La Liga and will then switch focus back to the Champions League and the task of turning the tie around against Diego Simeone’s men.
