Bayern Munich attacker Serge Gnabry did not play during the team’s 5-0 victory over St. Pauli on Saturday due to knee issues, which put some fans on alert.
On Sunday, the Germany international was spotted doing some “light running” at Säbener Straße with a brace/sleeve on his right knee. Gnabry, who started at attacking midfield vs. Real Madrid last week in the Champions League win, has until Wednesday to get right:
Losing Gnabry would be a tough blow given how he has performed so far this season. Should Gnabry not be able to play, Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany might have to turn toward Jamal Musiala, who has been battling back from a devastating injury for the majority of this season. The other option, Lennart Karl, suffered a hamstring injury last week and is out for the “foreseeable future” per Bayern Munich.
Karl’s agent, Michael Ballack, indicated it could be three weeks before his client is ready to go.
