What will Bayern Munich be getting in new midfielder Bara Sapoko Ndiaye? The Bavarians already have a good idea.
The 18-year-old breakout Senegalese international impressed during the last Rückrunde while at loan at Bayern, and caught the eye of head coach Vincent Kompany. Sport Bild reports that Kompany has rated his new recruit for a long time — as captured by @iMiaSanMia:
Vincent Kompany has long been a big admirer of Bara Ndiaye. The Senegalese impressed the coach so much during his loan spell
last season, particularly with the pace he adds to the midfield. All club officials are now also pleased with Bara and are enthusiastic about his footballing talent. He has big chances of regular game time as alternative in midfield this season [@BILD]
Ndiaye should add a different dimension to the midfield and be an excellent developmental complement to Joshua Kimmich, Aleksandar Pavlović, and Tom Bischof. This has all the makings of a shrewd signing by Bayern, with the groundwork laid beforehand via the club’s Red&Gold partnerships, which identified and brought Ndiaye to Munich.
In Bayern Munich’s 4-2 friendly win over Heidenheim, Ndiaye completed 94% of his passes, had a key pass, and only lost possession 10 times on 120 touches across 90 minutes. Defensively, Nidaye struggled with his duels as he won only 2 of 7, but did have 3 interceptions, and 5 ball recoveries.
All-in-all, it was a good preseason for Ndiaye.
