Xavier’s exhibition season kicks off tomorrow with a 2pm tip against Murray State. (Is “kicks off” and a “tip” too many references to starting in one sentence?) If you are looking for a way to see what each new face brings in terms of actual intercollegiate competition, this would be a good time to do it. If you are stuck at work on the weekend like most of us, there’s more good news to come.
This game is airing on Xavier+, Xavier’s in house programming option. The game will be on there and will be called
by Paul Fritschner and Matt Stainbrook. It appears that it is archived and then can be watched any time during the 24 hour pass that you get when you purchase the game.
That is also the bad news. It costs $10 for this game, but that gets you just the one day of access. The fall season pass costs $50 and gives you access to the remaining fall games on Xavier+. That, sadly, is just five more games of volleyball and soccer.
Currently Xavier is ranked 62nd in KenPom and Murray St is 134th, so this isn’t some sort of pushover, cakewalk situation. If you prefer Torvik X is 74th and Murray is 125th. It won’t be easy to tell much of anything from this, but it will be a chance to see the boys in action. If you are a big football fan living north of I-70, that may be just the thing you need.
