On the SummerSlam Saturday Post Show, Cathy Kelley caught up with Nick Aldis backstage. She asked him about the moment in the ring with wife Mickie James and their son after his valiant loss to Gunther on the premium live event from Minneapolis tonight (Aug. 1). Before he could answer his boss arrived.
In order to face Der Ring General, Aldis had to relinquish his job as SmackDown General Manager. After tapping out to Gunther, Aldis decided he couldn’t step back into the role and offered WWE chief
content officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque his letter of resignation.
The Game wasn’t having it though. He wants Nick right back in charge of the blue brand next Friday, even with the man who just beat him on the roster. On that subject, Hunter tells the GM to “take it easy” on Gunther.
Later on a “press conference” portion of the Post Show, Levesque was asked about Aldis’ wrestling future. He put over Aldis again, and then basically said “never say never”. It doesn’t seem like it will be soon though, since he’d have to relinquish again.
