Spain boss Luis de la Fuente has been asked for his thoughts on Barcelona midfielder Gavi following his successful return from injury.
Gavi made his return from knee surgery in March and has gone on to make eight appearances in all competitions for the Catalan giants.
The midfielder is now pushing for a place in Spain’s World Cup 2026 and De la Fuente’s words will offer him hope he will get a call-up.
“He’s in a very good moment. Best of all, he is recovered. He’s competing fantastically at his club
and we celebrate,” he told reporters.
“That’s the best news. Then we will make the decision whether to call up a player or not.”
Gavi may well get another chance to impress on Sunday at Camp Nou when Barcelona take on Real Madrid in La Liga, needing just a point to secure another title.
The midfielder has started Barcelona’s last five games in all competitions and will be hoping to keep his place in the starting XI.
