The final day of the 2025/2026 EPL Season is notoriously chaotic, and Gameweek 38 promises to deliver plenty of high-scoring drama. Reflecting on Gameweek 37, my roster produced a decent 74-point return.
While my defensive unit chipped in 18 points, my powerhouse midfield stole the show, racking up 34 points thanks to elite goal contributions and heavy defensive action points.
Up front, my dual-striker setup paid off handsomely as Erling Haaland delivered, and Newcastle’s William Osula exploded for
a massive 13-point haul courtesy of a brilliant brace.
Now, it is time to optimize my final lineup structure to lock in those mini-league victories.
Defensive Rearrangements and the Senesi Transfer
For the final day of the season, I am shifting into a traditional 4-4-2 blueprint. Using my single free transfer to secure Bournemouth’s Marcos Senesi is a savvy tactical pivot.
The Cherries are chasing European qualification, and Senesi’s elite baseline bonus potential and aerial threat make him a strong candidate for a massive double-digit haul. Paired with Bart Verbruggen, Bijol, and Nico O’Reilly, this backline has an excellent statistical foundation.
Armband: Bruno Fernandes for the Record
My FPL Team for GW-38 is going to be captained by Bruno Fernandes. Sitting on 20 assists, the Manchester United captain has tied the single-season Premier League record.
Facing Brighton, Bruno will undoubtedly play his heart out to claim the record outright. With his elite underlying creativity and security on penalty duties, he is a phenomenal alternative to the heavily-captained Erling Haaland.
The Bench Dilemma: Benching Bukayo Saka
Bold choices define the final day, and benching Bukayo Saka against Crystal Palace is certainly one of them.
With Arsenal having already clinched the league title, manager Mikel Arteta will likely prioritize player safety ahead of the looming UEFA Champions League final.
Keeping Saka on the bench protects my squad from a frustrating, low-minute cameo and allows my motivated differentials to maximize my scoring potential.
This final iteration of my FPL Team for GW-38 of the 2025/2026 EPL Season looks exceptionally well-equipped to handle the final-day madness.
By targeting highly motivated assets like Senesi and record-chasing superstars like Bruno Fernandes, I have built a lineup capable of exploiting defensive vulnerabilities across the league.
Do you believe benching Bukayo Saka is a safe calculation due to Champions League rotation, or is it too big of a risk to leave a world-class midfielder out of MY final starting XI?
