The Steelers welcomed a few more wideouts to Pittsburgh for pre-draft visits as they look to continue to add to their wide receiver room during April’s draft. Wide receivers Jeff Caldwell and and Kendrick Law met with the team on Monday.
Caldwell played his college ball at the University of Cincinnati and burst onto the scene with a 1,011-yard and 10-touchdown campaign in 2024. Caldwell had a much more lackluster 2025 season but still managed to catch six touchdowns. The receiver was looked upon as more of a late
round, perhaps even a UDFA, before a strong campaign at the NFL Combine. Caldwell stands at a massive six feet five inches tall, and ran a blazing 4.31 40-yard dash, testing similarly to that of Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf. With the plethora of day three selections the Steelers have, bringing in someone as athletically gifted as Caldwell seems like a good move as a potential upside shot.
Law spent his first three collegiate seasons at the University of Alabama before transferring to Kentucky for his senior season. There, had had his best statistical year by far. After a previous career high of 15 receptions in a season, Law caught 53 balls for the Wildcats for 540 yards and three touchdowns. Law is a willing downfield blocker, something we know that Pittsburgh values. The receiver measures six feet tall and just a touch over 200 pounds. A lot of Law’s production comes from behind the line of scrimmage and making things happen after the catch, where he is explosive with the ball in his hands. Law also has experience on special teams and could provide value as a returner, as well as being used in different ways on the field.
While both of these players are projected as day three prospects, it is interesting to see who the Steelers may value higher than others, especially given that they have six picks to make on day three. Don’t be surprised to see the Steelers take a project wideout like Caldwell or Law in April.
