Good morning, Canes.
Here we go to start your Sunday:
Miami blows out Syracuse 38-10, shuts up their loud mouth coach
Miami bounced back from the loss at SMU, and got revenge for the season-ending loss in 2024, and beat the crap out of Syracuse, dispatching the visitors
38-10.

Here’s The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly by yours truly
Miami is now 7-2 (3-2 in ACC) on the year, but we all know that’s not good enough. Miami needs to win out — and get TONS of help elsewhere — to have a chance at the College Football Playoffs. The chances to make the ACC Championship game are already long gone.
The Canes return to Hard Rock Stadium for Senior Day against North Carolina State next Saturday. This will also likely be the final time we get to see Rueben Bain and Francis Mauigoa in Miami Hurricanes Orange and Green, along with the plethora of seniors on the roster, so be sure to make it to the game.
Next up: Senior Day vs NC State
The final home game of the 2025 season is already upon us! Miami welcomes NC State to Hard Rock Stadium for Senior Day.
Leading NC State is South Florida native QB C.J. Bailey. An alum of Hollywood (FL) Chaminade-Madonna, Bailey was the QB for Jojo Trader, Jeremiah Smith and company only 2 years ago. Now, he’s the starter for NC State after being passed over by the hometown Hurricanes, and he’s sure to want to put on a show, and lead an upset over the team that snubbed him in recruiting.
There are other storylines for sure, but the Bailey one is the biggest one to my early eye. Miami SHOULD win this game, but they should have won the Louisville and SMU games, too.
Last home game of the season. I know with 2 losses people are still mad, but this is the last time to see this team at home, so come out and support!
But, speaking of the Senior Day game against NC State…
Miami open as favorites over NC State
As expected, because they’re the more talented team in every game they play all year long, Miami are big favorites over NC State in week 12.
“Cool story, Cam”. I know, I know. Just sharing the number, same as I have every week this season. Do with that information as you will.
Other scores around the ACC…
Final: Wake Forest 16, #14 Virginia 9 — I called this one all week. Virginia had survived on dark magic all year long, and their luck ran out against a plucky Wake Forest team at home on Saturday night. Virginia QB Chandler Morris got hurt early in this game and didn’t return, but Wake already had Virginia on lock before he exited. This is Virginia’s first ACC loss, and likely knocks them down below Miami in the CFP rankings.
Final: Cal 29, #15 Louisville 26 (OT) — Louisville is mid and it pisses me off to no end that we lost to them. But Cal beats them in overtime, and gives the Cardinals their second ACC loss. Following the committee’s logic, Miami should leapfrog Louisville on Tuesday, since Louisville has the more recent loss, but watch they have us behind them because of head to head (WHICH THEY SHOULD) while having Notre Dame, WHO MIAMI BEAT, miles ahead of us still. Watch.
Final: SMU 45, Boston College 13 — Easy dub for SMU. No letdown after Miami gifted them last week’s game.
Final: UConn 37, Duke 34 — Major letdown after beating Clemson last week, Duke ends the non-conference schedule 1-3, and are now 5-4 on the year. But, quick maths, they still only have 1 conference loss, so everything is in front of them to play for on a path to the ACC Championship game. Still need a win to get bowl eligible, though.
Final: North Carolina 20, Stanford 15 — Don’t look now, but the Tar Heels are 4-5 and have a shot at a bowl game. Taking full advantage of a VERY LIGHT ACC Schedule through the back half of the season. And Stanford is still quite terrible, so this was a gift for Carolina.
Final: Clemson 24, FSU 10 — What started as a potential “ACC Game of the Year” preseason was an ACC Network afterthought in the end. Clemson found a way to score and win, while FSU regressed to their normal, terrible selves after the outlier 42-7 win over Wake from last week. Both teams need 2 more wins for bowl eligibility….and I don’t think they both get there.
