During a recent interaction on social media, Killer Kross — formerly known as Karrion Kross during his time in WWE — suggested the idea of wrestling with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of The New Day as a trio called The New Doomsday.
The hypothetical trio would, of course, be comprised of former WWE stars. Kross and his real-life wife/valet Scarlett Bordeaux parted ways with WWE in August 2025 after they couldn’t agree to terms on new contracts with the company.
Meanwhile, news of Kingston and Woods’
departure from WWE broke on May 2. Reports later surfaced that claimed the duo had signed new contracts with the company, but then TKO asked them to restructure their deals with a pay cut. They reportedly refused to these terms and were subsequently granted their release.
On Tuesday, a person on X (Twitter) wrote that he would be excited if Kross would someday soon take on Woods in the ring. Kross himself responded directly to the post a day later by pitching The New Doomsday. But fans hoping that the potential trio would have a long run will be disappointed in knowing Kross’ full idea.
“What about a one night only trios tag team with @TrueKofi & @AustinCreedWins,” Kross posted on X. “The New Doomsday.”
As Kross indicated in his message, Woods has reverted back to the name he used before he debuted in WWE, Austin Creed. Meanwhile, Kingston will seemingly make appearances using only his real first name of Kofi.
Earlier this week, Kofi and Austin were announced for their first public appearance since their departures from WWE when GalaxyCon Oklahoma City listed them as participants on May 23 and May 24 of their four-day event. The duo will be available for autograph signings and photo opportunities.
Rumors have swirled about The New Day potentially joining AEW once their non-compete clauses end, though they have not made any public comments about where they might next wrestle.
For their part, Kross and Bordeaux recently said on D-Von Dudley’s podcast that they would be open to working for AEW if they agreed to the company’s creative plans for them. However, they also said they are open to the prospect of a potential return to WWE.
“We leave the door open for all discussions with everybody,” Kross told Dudley. “Again, it would be rude to say who we discuss things with and who we don’t. So, I just don’t ever go into that. I don’t want anyone to ever feel slighted.
“We’re always open to developing ideas and conversations to do anything. The wrestling business has been good to us, it has changed our lives, and the fans literally come everywhere we go.”
