There are rumblings about Harry Kane’s future at Bayern Munich beyond the end of his current contract in 2027, but both the player and the club want a longer partnership. Max Eberl, Bayern’s director of sport, confirmed that the club is talking to the England captain about a contract extension, but negotiations isn’t on the cards as of now.
“I said we were in talks, but the negotiations have not started yet,” Eberl said (as captured by X account @iMiaSanMia). “We are in close contact with Harry, and
further steps will follow.” A handful of European top dogs will be circling the former Tottenham Hotspur player closely monitoring his situation, but Bayern has an advantage in the Kane sweepstakes is the player’s unwillingness to uproot his family again.
Kane extending with Bayern shouldn’t be a problem. What the club should be doing is finding a suitable backup for Kane, because so far Nicolas Jackson hasn’t exactly lit up the pitch with his performances. Per some loose reports, a potential transfer target is erstwhile Bayern target Nick Woltemade, currently in a bit of a rut at Newcastle United.
