Well, if you were wondering to who the Braves would tender contracts this morning, I have some news.
Joey Wentz, Eli White, and the newly acquired Mauricio Dubon have signed contracts with the Braves today. Dubon was the easy choice, as the Braves traded Nick Allen to the Astros for him this week. Joey Wentz continues his redemption arc from high Braves draft pick to traded piecemeal starter to reliever to making 13 starts with the Braves with a 4.92/3.43/4.00 line. Eli White is leader in the clubhouse for the fourth outfielder spot.
The Braves have until midnight to offer contracts to Dylan Lee, Alek Manoah, Jose Suarez, and maybe (or not) Joel Payamps. Dylan Lee seems like an easy choice, as he is team controlled through 2029 and at for about a month there the Braves’ only reliable reliever. Alek Manoah and Jose Suarez appear to be candidates for an invitation to Spring Training with somebody. We’ll keep you updated as you know.
