Where’s the fun in predicting the Philadelphia Eagles to lose to the Dallas Cowboys?
Admittedly, I can’t say the Eagles winning tonight is the most logical prediction. The Birds are really bad and really banged up.
But it’s not like the Cowboys are all that. Dallas has the worst defense in the NFL. Their offense is in a rut they haven’t experienced with Dak Prescott starting since the 2019 season. Even some homer Cowboys fans are taking the Eagles to win this game.
I expect the players to put forth
a good effort on the night of Jeffrey Lurie’s induction into the Eagles Hall of Fame. I would think this enshrinement has not been glossed over in the team’s internal messaging.
I can understand why some might feel like the Eagles winning is impossible. But even the league’s worst team typically win some games each year. And the NFL is weird and unpredictable. Maybe the Eagles pull off the upset today.
No one will be surprised if they don’t. And even if they do, it won’t necessarily be an indication that the season is saved.
But even if the joy of a win is short-lived, it’ll be a nice reprieve from an otherwise hellish season.
Especially if it’s coming at the expense of the Cowboys and their fans.
