The Bears are signing veteran defensive tackle Neville Gallimore to a two-year deal worth $12 million, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported
on Monday.Gallimore, 29, was a third-round pick by the Cowboys in 2020. He played in all 17 games for the Colts in 2025, starting in eight of them. He finished the season with a career-high 3.5 sacks and 38 tackles with 17 quarterback pressures. His 72.6 PFSN DT Impact Score ranked 66th in the league this past year.
An undersized interior defender, Gallimore wins
more with his athleticism and finesse more so than pure power plugging up the middle. He has graded better as a pass rusher than as a run defender for much of his time in the NFL.
This marks the first signing the Bears have made in the “legal tampering” period. Chicago’s interior defensive line was an issue for them in 2025, as they didn’t have a single player grade in the top 50 in the aforementioned DT Impact Metric. Their ability to stop the run proved to be an issue, and generating consistent pressure was a difficulty of theirs, as well. Gallimore projects as a high-level rotational player to factor into the mix with Gervon Dexter and Grady Jarrett.
