Lamine Yamal
may have a trophy cabinet that is already bulging at the seams but he’s still trying to find ways to hone his game even further.The Barcelona star has told France Football that he always wants to improve and is currently focused on getting better at free-kicks.
“I try to work on everything. The good thing about being a young player like me is that you can always learn; you have plenty of time ahead of you,” he said.
“Right now, I’m practising free kicks; I know I have room for improvement
there. Actually, I work on all aspects: finishing, everything the coach sees I can improve. I enjoy playing football; it’s not just training.”
Yamal also says that he always wants to beat his numbers from the previous season when he starts a new campaign.
“At the beginning of every season, I always try to improve. I tell myself: ‘If I did 200 dribbles last season, this season I’m going to try to do 300. If I scored 20 goals, I’m going to try to score 30,’” he added.
“I think that, little by little, I’m going to progress in that aspect. I want to win more titles, I want to win with Barça. It’s true that I’ve started very well. I’m also trying to get closer to the penalty area, run more, and keep improving.”
Yamal has started the season well with Barcelona and has eight goals and six assists from eight games in all competitions.
