As someone who grew up in the Bay Area and still lives in California, the Raiders-49ers rivalry still means a lot, even with the Raiders crossing the state line and the 49ers relocating to the Great America parking. Throw in that both teams are currently in the playoff mix, and the Week 9 matchup between the Las Vegas Raiders and San Francisco 49ers has plenty of electricity to it, aided by the infamous substation next to Levi’s Stadium. The Raiders proved me wrong last week by ending the four-game losing streak in New York. That helps build some momentum for this Sunday, but there’s no way I’m letting a one-possession win over the Jets convince me that the Silver and Black can pull off a nearly double-digit upset against the NFC-leading 49ers.
However, I do think the spread is too large, and Vegas can at least stay in the game. Granted, the Raiders have played four teams of this caliber, losing by multiple scores to two of them (Patriots and Rams) and just a field goal to the other two (Chiefs and Bills). So, even taking the points is far from a “lock”.

Week 8 was the bounce-back type of performance that I desperately need, going 11-3. However, I dug myself into way too big a hole, as I’m still five games back of second (not even first!) place. That’s pretty pathetic, but picking up three games on Ray (8-6) is the type of momentum I need going into the second half of the regular season. The problem was Bill also went 11-3 to take over the lead. Heck of a performance, boss!

I don’t know if we’ve ever had this many top pickers in one week. Eleven people got 12 picks correct (or only two games wrong); that’s amazing!
