Aurélien Tchouaméni spoke in the mixed zone following Real Madrid’s 2–1 loss to Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League tie.
“For me, it wasn’t a yellow card,” Tchouameni said following his booking which will see him miss the second leg. “I didn’t do anything, I was running… And with all the fouls that happened before, it’s unfair,
“Do you really think I’m going to answer who is going to replace me in the 2nd leg? We have a great team, and whoever plays will do very well. We’re going out
to win in Munich.”
Tchouameni lamented the mistakes Real Madrid made but was also confident in overcoming the deficit in Munich.
“We need to concede fewer goals and score more. It’s obvious, but we’re going out there to win. We knew it was a two-legged tie and we still believe we can advance. We’re going to give it our all; it’s going to be a tough match, but if we play to our potential and go out there with confidence, we can do a lot of damage.
“I don’t know if the result is unfair, but at 0-2, when things were tough, we raised our level and created more chances. We’re going to work hard and prepare well for the next match.”
