The Buffalo Bills are set to face off against the Houston Texans for the second consecutive season. It’s also the second consecutive season where the Bills have traveled to Houston for the contest. Last year, Buffalo played horribly in a 23-20 loss at the Texans.
Houston has not been a friendly venue for Buffalo, as the Bills haven’t left the city with a win since November of 2006. In that game, J.P. Losman threw touchdown passes to Lee Evans and Peerless Price, with the latter securing a game-winning
grab with just 14 seconds remaining to give the Bills a 24-21 win. While we might quibble over how effective Evans and Price would be in Buffalo’s current wide receiver group—even at 44 and 49 years old, respectively—we can at least guarantee that neither of those players will be available tonight.
Quarterback Josh Allen will have his hands full this evening, as the No. 1-ranked Houston defense is ready to make his life miserable. While the schedule-makers initially would have loved this matchup as a duel between Allen and C.J. Stroud, the latter is in concussion protocol, so it will be Davis Mills making his third consecutive start for the Texans.
