Earlier this week, New Orleans Saints legend Steve Gleason and New Orleans author Brian Jeansonne took the Ice Bucket Challenge to show their support for former NFL RB Chris Johnson, who like Gleason and Jeansonne is also battling ALS.
Gleason then challenged Saints quarterback Tyler Shough among others to also participate in which Shough quickly accepted via Gleason and Jeansonne’s posts on Instagram.
On Thursday afternoon, Shough posted a video on his social media accounts with his dog, Murphy as he took the Ice Bucket Challenge. Shough gave a shout out to Gleason for nominating him and then himself, nominated his Saints teammates Juwan Johnson and Cam Jordan as well as head coach Kellen Moore.
The Ice Bucket Challenge, which first originated in 2014 has since seen huge revival led by Chris Johnson following the announcement his own ALS diagnosis in 2025, but he just made the news public last month.
