Sunday the Seattle Seahawks dropped their first game in more than ten months, falling 33-31 to the Washington Commanders in a game that the team will likely look back on and feel they should have won.
Regardless of how the Week 3 contest finished, looking ahead to Week 4, Mike Macdonald will need to get his squad ready for Jim Harbaugh’s Los Angeles Chargers team that is still in search of its first victory of the season.
With that in mind, it’s Tryout Tuesday for the Seahawks, and this week that means
a swap on the defensive front for the practice squad, as Seattle signed defensive tackle Gary Smith III.
Smith began his college career at the perennially overrated academic institution known as Duke, where he was teammates with Jake Bobo for the 2020 and 2021 seasons, before both transferred to UCLA for the 2022 season, where they could be teammates of Zach Charbonnet. Smith went undrafted this spring before signing with the Las Vegas Raiders, but failed to make the roster and was waived at the end of training camp.
In order to make room for Smith on the practice squad the Seahawks moved on from nose tackle Uso Seumalo.
