Raw airs tonight (July 13) with a live show emanating from American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. This is the third episode of Raw during the five week build to SummerSlam, which takes place on the weekend of August 1.
This is how Roman Reigns stays champion for 1300+ days again
World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns is back on Raw tonight for a contract signing with his SummerSlam challenger, Seth Rollins. Even though the match was announced a couple weeks ago, it must not be official until their names are on that contract tonight.
The OTC will have a chance
to respond after Rollins criticized him last week for being WWE’s chosen one who had a silver spoon in his mouth from day one in the company. Seth also said Roman couldn’t wrestle his way out of a wet paper bag when he first debuted in WWE.
That kind of harsh attack might warrant the Tribal Chief ordering his lap dog and personal assassin Jacob Fatu to attack Rollins. However, Fatu’s number one order of family business tonight is probably related to Solo Sikoa, who he ordered to appear on Raw. Sikoa is presumably being summoned to finally fall in line and acknowledge his Tribal Chief. This is all part of Roman’s master plan to reunite The Bloodline and hold onto another championship for 1300+ days, which he started to put into effect right after winning the world title at WrestleMania 42.
Sikoa has been resistant to rejoining his mafia boss up to this point, but it looks to me like he will change his tune after Fatu scared the living shit out of him last week on SmackDown. Could tonight be the night that Roman’s plan comes together and Solo is back in The Bloodline, perhaps at Rollins’ expense? Nobody in WWE will be able to stop Roman if he is successful at getting the band back together.
LA Knight might be the x-factor who throws those plans in disarray tonight if he finally shows some willingness to work together with Solo to fight back against The Bloodline. Then again, the stubborn megastar is often a victim of The Bloodline’s attacks, so he may be the one who is immediately stabbed in the back by Sikoa if he does try to rescue him tonight.
Will Roman’s master plan to reunite Sikoa with The Bloodline be realized just in time for his contract signing with Rollins? If not, will Seth try to put WWE fans to sleep with another very long and boring promo that doesn’t help sell those very expensive tickets to SummerSlam? Tune into Raw tonight to find out.
The rest of the card
Practically everyone wants to fight Intercontinental Champion Penta for the gold, so there will be a gauntlet match tonight to determine his challenger at SummerSlam. The seven competitors are Chad Gable, Rusev, Joe Hendry, Ethan Page, Je’Von Evans, Dominik Mysterio, and “the future of lucha libre” Dragon Lee. Will one of the heels try to scam their way into drawing the final (and most advantageous) spot in the gauntlet?
Queen IYO SKY had a successful run-in last week to thwart Roxanne Perez and Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan. SKY now faces Perez in a singles match tonight. Is this a basic tune up match for the queen heading into her title match against Morgan at SummerSlam, or does The Judgment Day have a special trap planned for The Genius of the Sky?
Brock Lesnar returns to Raw tonight, one week after King Oba Femi went at it on the mic with his advocate, Paul Heyman. Femi had a strange line about how a mouth can’t be fed if it doesn’t have a head. Did The Beast bother to watch the show last week so he can be properly prepared for whatever beheading the king has planned for him and/or Heyman?
Former partners Bayley and Lyra Valkyria are scheduled for a face-to-face confrontation in the ring tonight. Bayley seems to think they can resolve their differences in such a setting. Does that resolution involve repeatedly punching each other in the face? Assuming WWE plans to book a match between them, will it go down at Saturday Night’s Main Event or SummerSlam?
Other stuff to keep an eye on
– Does Raw GM Adam Pearce have an official update on the status of Angelo Dawkins’ testicles after Maxxine Dupri tried her best to permanently damage them with a super powerful low blow last week?
– Will Maxxine complete her heel turn by telling new World Tag Team Champions The Vision to take out her former partners Otis and Tozawa?
– Paul Heyman is still being cold to Austin Theory despite last week’s championship win. What else does Theory, Bron Breakker, or YouTube douchebag Logan Paul have to do to get the Wise Man to stop being such a dick?
– JD McDonagh and The Judgment Day haven’t had much success with their vow to make Danhausen’s life hell. Can they find a way to get one over on him tonight and get some heat for the Danhausen vs. McDonagh match coming up this weekend at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Madison Square Garden?
– Now that he’s back in WWE, is there any chance that mid-card heel Baron Corbin shows up on tonight’s show to take out random babyfaces with End of Days?
– After Women’s Intercontinental Champion Sol Ruca successfully retained her belt against Raquel Rodriguez last week, is there enough time to find her a new challenger at SummerSlam?
– Does Raw GM Adam Pearce have an update on SmackDown GM Nick Aldis after GUNTHER beat the shit out of the guy last week?
