Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado revealed how Robert Lewandowski had some strong words for the squad ahead of Sunday’s win over Elche.
The Catalans heading into the game off the back of a Clasico defeat but returned to winning ways with a 3-1 victory.
Lewandowski was back from injury in time for the game, although he started on the bench, and Casado said that the veteran striker had some words of encouragement in the build-up to the match.
“During the week, Lewandowski said we need to be self-critical
and we have to improve,” he told the media.
Casado also feels the win delivered a much-needed confidence boost to the team after a difficult few weeks.
“Today, the objective was not only to win the three points, but also to regain the team’s confidence,” he added.
“I think we came away from today’s match with a lot of momentum, and of course there are things we’ll continue to improve in the upcoming games.”
