What is the story about?
Spring football practice continued with practice #4 yesterday. Some school records were set in track and field last weekend. Those and more for your Wednesday Dots.
Football Dots
- One big news item this week was the commitment of QB Blake Roskopf to the 2027 class. Aaron has his story on his commitment. Dawgman has their article here.
- Last week RB Jordan Washington was taken to the hospital after getting injured in practice. He is out of the hospital and says that he is good, but he likely won’t be participating in practice for a while. (You’ll notice that he is wearing a neck brace in this picture.)
- The Huskies had their fourth practice of the spring yesterday.
- Christian Caple has his ($) story on WR Rashid Williams being back after missing most of last season after injuring his collarbone early in the game against UC Davis.
- Dawgman has a transcript of an interview with Rashid Wallace here. They also have an interview with WR coach Kevin Cummings ($) here; he talks about most of the receivers including Jordan Clay, Trez Davis, Dezmond Roebuck, Rashid Williams, and Christian Moss.
- Several players that had practiced last week were absent or not participating yesterday including Xe’Ree Alexander, Bodpegn Miller, Christian Moss, Geirean Hatchett, and Donovan Robinson. Cummings indicated that the 2 WR’s that were out were okay and seemed to indicate that they were being cautious with them.
- Dan Raley at SI has his look at yesterday’s practice with a look at Quaid Carr now being the No. 1 back with 3 of the RB’s out.
- Dezmen Roebuck was interviewed after practice. You can read the transcript, or watch and listen here:
- Several local high school recruits were at practice including 2026 signee David Schwerzel who won’t be enrolling until this summer, so he can’t take part in practice yet-but he can watch. 2027 UW commit, WR Braylon Pope was also there along with currently uncommitted OL Gecova Doyal and Athlete Ashton Pillard.
UW Athletics Dots
- Andrew Berg has his weekly update on UW Softball which dropped to #19 after a tough road trip to the Bay Area. There will be a couple more opportunities to watch them at home this season, including 3 games against Minnesota this weekend. There will be 3 Dawgs throwing out the first pitch in the games this weekend. (Wish I could be there to see Dubs throwing out the first pitch!)
- UW’s Men’s and Women’s Track and Field teams competed last weekend at both the Stanford Invitational and the Texas Relays. Both teams had some impressive performances, including some new school records.
- April 23 is Husky Giving Day.
