Spain boss Luis de la Fuente has been talking about Lamine Yamal’s game time with La Roja over the international break.
Yamal has started all three games so far and could be in the XI again on Tuesday for the match against Croatia in Split.
De la Fuente explained the teenager always wants to play but says he has set a maximum limit of minutes for his players for these four games.
“Lamine is always ready to play; everyone wants to play. Then we evaluate or analyze whether it’s appropriate or not. He’s
in fantastic form, he’s a role model and a competitor. And he’s in great shape to play a match tomorrow. But so are the rest of his teammates,” he told reporterse.
“I already said there would be a tough run of four games. We need to field a team that’s in perfect condition. There’s one important thing I’d like to emphasize: nobody is going to play more than 270 minutes, which would be playing three games out of four. Tomorrow is a very important match and we want to give the best version”.
Yamal was taken off at half-time of Spain’s win over Czechia, in a bid to keep him fresh for tomorrow’s match.
The teenager has played a starring role for the world champions during the current break, scoring four times and bagging an assist.
