Kickoff times and television designations continue to emerge for the 2026 season with the SEC opener for the Texas Longhorns against the Volunteers at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville on Sept. 26 set for an 11: 00 a.m. Central start time.
ABC or ESPN will televise the fourth all-time matchup between the two UTs. All three previous games were in the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, a 20-14 win by Volunteers
in 1950 and two subsequent victories by the Longhorns — 16-0 in 1952 and 36-13 in 1968, the prelude to back-to-back national championships as the Wishbone took college football by storm.
So the trip to Neyland will represent the first game between Texas and Tennessee played on campus with the Vols coming to Austin in 2028.
Under sixth-year head coach Josh Heupel, the Volunteers were ranked No. 25 in the most recent too-early ESPN Top 25.
