Back in April 2025, Alexander Volkanovski regained his featherweight belt when he fought for the vacant title against the younger up-and-comer Diego Lopes. Much was made of the age difference — Volk was 36
and Lopes is 30, and in the lower weightclasses, being over 35 is practically a death sentence. But “The Great” lived up to his nickname and put on a dominant performance against Lopes, winning the fight with 49-46,49-46, and 48-47 scores.
Since then, Lopes has gone out and defeated another top featherweight contender in Jean Silva, TKOing the Fighting Nerds standout with a spinning back elbow. That win in the main event at Noche UFC 2025 was impactful enough to shoot him right back into another title shot with Volkanovski, who hasn’t competed since winning the belt.
The date: January 31st. The event: UFC 325 in Sydney, Australia. The poster: lean, mean, and green. Take a look at the UFC 325 poster that was just released below:
UFC posters are always a controversial topic amongst fans. The graphic design department gets a ton of flack for recycling formats, layouts, and color schemes. Those hoping for a new look coming into 2026’s Paramount CBS era are sure to be disappointed. The poster does captures the essence of the fight, though. Lopes is facing a massive task in Sydney, Australia. With Ilia Topuria gone, Volkanovski is once again the big unbeatable baddy at 145, and Diego will have to prove he’s made big changes in 10 months if he wants to stand a chance in January.
While the UFC 325 poster only features Volkanovski and Lopes, the card itself is a 16-fight monster that also features Dan Hooker s. Benoit Saint Denis, Rafael Fiziev vs. Mauricio Ruffy, and the return of Tai Tuivasa vs. Tallison Teixeira.
All of this will be aired on Paramount+ in the United States with no extra charge for existing subscribers. With this event coming just a week after UFC 324 in Las Vegas, you can’t say the UFC on Paramount CBS era isn’t starting with a bang!
