The Cleveland Browns roster continues to be in flux heading into Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints. On Wednesday, the Browns signed TE Carsen Ryan to the active roster, but then waived him the following day, which caused some speculation and confusion about why those decisions were made as they were.
On Friday, Cleveland signed DT Sam Kamara to their active roster in Ryan’s place. Kamara’s addition is likely due to the injury to DT Maliek Collins that has kept him from practicing this week. Since
Kamara has already been elevated the maximum of three times this season, the Browns must have him on their active roster if they want him to play in Week 9.
The team has not made the Kamara move official at the time of this writing, but has been reported by his agent:
Kamara has been with the Browns since 2022, playing in 21 games, including two starts. In his three games this season, Kamara has 10 tackles, one sack, and one tackle for loss.
